Return to Vader’s Castle, Return to Resistance – The Blockade Runner Podcast #126

BR 126 CoverThis week’s show is all about comics and cartoons! For the comics side of things, we run down the Marvel Star Wars news coming out of NYCC 2019, take a look at some recently announced Star Wars manga, and share our thoughts on the first two Return to Vader’s Castle issues from IDW as well as Star Wars: Allegiances #1 from Marvel. The second half of the show is devoted to discussing the first two episodes of Star Wars Resistance‘s final season before we wrap with a few minutes on Freddie Prinze Jr.’s recent (brilliant) viral monologue.

Where’s Rose?, NYCC, and Kevin Feige and the Future of Star Wars Films – The Blockade Runner Podcast #125

BR 125 CoverThis episode features the second half of our conversation last week (too big to be contained in just one show!). We begin by discussing the lack of Rose Tico in TROS products and promotion before looking at the publishing announcements from NYCC 2019. We wrap the show up with some talk of the Kevin Feige news and what it may mean for the future of the Star Wars films.

All the News That’s Fit to Babu Frick – The Blockade Runner Podcast #123

BR 123 CoverThis week’s episode is news heavy again as we discuss Deborah Chow directing the Obi-Wan show, the TROS issue of Empire Magazine, and the (official this time) Triple Force Friday reveals and livestream. We also talk a little bit about Babu Frick, but somehow we forgot to bring up the week’s biggest story: Kevin Fiege producing a future Star Wars film. Whoops.

Two Hours on Toys Too Hot to Announce (That Come Out in Two Weeks) – The Blockade Runner Podcast #122

BR 122 Cover.jpgTriple Force Friday is less than two weeks away, and even though we haven’t really had any official announcements about what’s being released for the event, we spend two hours talking about all of the toys that have leaked so far (pretty much all of them).

We’re sorry.

Zen Studios’ Star Wars Pinball – The Blockade Runner Podcast #121

BR 121 Cover

This week’s episode is all about Star Wars video games. We kick off the episode by disucssing the recently announced Jedi Knight and Jedi Academy console ports before devoting the rest of the show to taking a look at the recently released and completely excellent Star Wars Pinball package for Switch. We originally planned on discussing the many Rise of Skywalker toy leaks that have been happening lately, but there was just too much pinball to talk this week so we’re saving that discussion for episode 122.

The Star Wars Saga Teaser Trailers – The Blockade Runner Podcast #120

BR 120 CoverInspired by the recent D23 Rise of Skywalker trailer, this week we’re taking a look back at each of the saga films’ teasers. We discuss the evolving art form of movie trailers, which teasers most accurately reflect the films they’re advertising, and why watching the Attack of the Clones and Force Awakens teasers is such a transcendent experience.

Hello There Resistance Trailer, Obi-Wan Rumors – The Blockade Runner Podcast #117

BR 117 CoverAfter what has felt like a considerable draught in major Star Wars news this summer, this week’s show is packed with rumors and speculation about The Rise of Skywalker, Rian Johnson’s upcoming Star Wars film series, a possible (likely?) return to the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi for Ewan McGregor in a Disney + series, and our reactions to the Star Wars Resistance season two trailer. So much to cover and quite a lot to say about each topic in this extra-large episode of the Blockade Runner Podcast.

Ryan’s audio this week is coming from Skype as his local recording malfunctioned, so if you notice that it sounds a little off, that’s why and we’re working on it and will hopefully have things back to normal next week.

The Phantom Menace’s Deleted Scenes – The Blockade Runner Podcast #116

BR 116 CoverNews for this week’s show includes the launch of Star Wars Roll Out, John’s thoughts on the recently released Star Wars: Myths and Fables, Ryan’s review of the Age of Resistance special, and a rumored rerelease of all 10 saga films on blu ray this fall. We discuss all of The Phantom Menace‘s deleted scenes for our primary topic this week in the back half of the episode.

Unfortunately we have some sound quality issues on this episode that we’re not able to correct in post-production. It’s listenable, but not representative of the usual sound quality level of the show. Next week should be back to normal.
