Much of this week’s episode is focused on Star Wars Eclipe, the newly announced High Republic-era game from developer Quantic Dream. As much as we’d like to be excited about a new project bringing together two of our favorite aspects of Star Wars fandom (High Republic and games), we’re disgusted by Lucasfilm Games choosing to partner with David Cage and Quantic Dream. Ryan walks us through the long history of accusations and abuse from the studio and we ultimately explain why we won’t be buying or playing the game.
After that discussion we save what we (kinda, maybe?) love by discussing a Rogue Squadron production update and Crimson Reign #1.
We catch up on the latest Star Wars publishing announcements including new non-High Republic novels for 2022, the conclusion of The War of the Bounty Hunters series, and Ghosts of Vader’s Castle. We also discuss Hasbro’s 2021 PulseCon announcements and Hayden Christensen’s possible appearance in more Disney+ projects.
This week’s episode features a look at the new Star Wars: Visions trailer and Ryan’s run down of the last few months’ worth of Star Wars comics releases. We close the show with another wildy insightful message on The Bad Batch from Dave Hackerson.
The Star Wars: Visions reveal is here and we’re super excited! We also get into the new High Republic book releases from last week and the latest episode of The Bad Batch. Finally Ryan updates us on The War of the Bounty Hunters and his upcoming trip to Batuu.
This week’s show kicks off with some chat about our recent Star Wars purchases and the latest High Republic announcements before we dig into J.J. Abrams’s reflection on the process of writing the sequel trilogy and our look at Bad Batch episode #5, “Rampage.”
Much Star Wars video game talk on this episode as we cover the Republic Commando and Star Wars Pinball VR announcements as well as Ryan’s decision to buy a $5 copy of The New Droid Army for Game Boy Advance. We also talk the Bad Batch and respond to a great listener message on the tempation of the dark side in The High Republic.
Ryan and John spend the first chunk of this week’s episode addressing the Gina Carano situation before talking Star Wars Insider, a rumored Nintendo Switch Republic Commando release, and finally some spoiler-free discussion of last week’s High Republic comics releases.
