Ryan and John discuss the bonus features on The Last Jedi home video release on this episode of The Blockade Runner podcast. We take a look at the feature length documentary The Director and the Jedi, our favorite deleted scenes, and touch a bit on the commentary too.
In this week’s Blockade Runner episode Ryan and John discuss the hotly debated Canto Bight sequence from The Last Jedi. Only we both really, really like it, so we’re not so much debating as we are high-fiving each other about how punk rock it is! This conversation was actually part of last week’s episode, but we split it out into it’s own thing because we think the Canto Bight sequence deserves a little more love than it’s getting.
Join Ryan and John as we dive into The Art of The Last Jedi and The Last Jedi Visual Dictionary books on this latest episode of The Blockade Runner. We both love reading the Art Of and Visual Dictionary releases that accompany each new Star Wars movie so much, so we’re excited to dedicate an entire episode to them. The Art Of discussion leans pretty far into analysis and gleaning what we can about The Last Jedi‘s production process from the book while the Visual Dictionary portion of the show is more focused on fun little details and lore. Authors Phil Szostak and Pablo Hidalgo have written two incredible Last Jedi resources that we think are essential to any Star Wars fan’s own library of sacred texts, so whether you join us for this discussion or not, be sure to pick up and dig in to copies of both.
A couple of Blockade Runners made an early morning trip to a Last Jedi screening just before the holidays and we took the opportunity to check in with Chris to hear about why he unfortunately didn’t love the movie (unlike pretty much everyone else involved with The Blockade Runner). This episode is brief as we recorded it in the car on the way to and from the movie, but if you didn’t love Rian Johnson’s first contribution to the Star Wars series you may enjoy hearing a similar perspective from Chris. Or, if you loved it like the rest of us on the show did, Chris provides an alternate take without resorting to insults and hyperbole.
In our third Last Jedi reactions episode, Ryan and John discuss their evolving feelings about #TheLastJedi after multiple viewings as well as dig in to the character arcs for Luke Skywalker and Vice Admiral Holdo.
This episode features Kevin, Jake, Jeremey, and John’s RAW and IMMEDIATE reactions to the totally crazy new Star Wars movie, The Last Jedi (don’t listen until you’ve seen the film!). We drove straight to a nearby restaurant as soon as the movie was over and just recorded our initial thoughts, so while there’s a bit of background noise and restaurant chatter, we think it’s worth it! We’ll be back with a more formal reaction show soon.
Ryan and John get together one last time before the release of The Last Jedi to speculate about the movie, where the characters are headed, and the potential twists and turns we may encounter along the way. We also discuss some of the most compelling comments from last week’s TLJ media tour and discuss our plans for avoiding spoilers on social media in the days preceding the film’s release. And we kick it all off with a discussion of Star Wars and the holidays and some of our favorite Star Wars holiday merch and traditions!
Ryan and John discuss Rian Johnson’s new Star Wars Trilogy, Lucasfilm’s live action Star Wars tv show, and our time so far with Battlefront 2! We consider what’s most likely for the trilogy and tv shows before jumping into what we’d actually like to see. Plus Ryan shares his impressions of the Battlefront 2 campaign and we share our take on the EA/Battlefront 2 micro transactions controversy.
Join Dan and John as they discuss the recent World Series Last Jedi trailer, Kathleen Kennedy’s recent Star Wars Show interview, and how we’d like to see IDW’s new Star Wars Adventures comic series pave the way for future Lucasfilm animation projects.
Join Kevin and John as we breakdown the trailer for The Last Jedi frame by frame. We discuss our favorite images, plot implications, and our hopes for Episode VIII. This discussion took place just minutes after The Last Jedi trailer went live, so our impressions are immediate and, as Snoke would say, “RAW!”
