Ryan and John discuss their favorite moments of the new Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian episode covering Luke Skywalker’s return as well as Robert Rodriguez’s excitement for The Book of Boba Fett and Thandie Newton’s dissapointment about Val’s death in Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Original Blockade Runners Kevin and Dan join Ryan and John for this huge episode covering the mind-blowing season (series?) finale of The Mandalorian. This episode felt like a hugely important moment for the show and for Star Wars in general and we spend close to three hours covering every aspect of its triumphant surprises and implications for the future.
In our third Last Jedi reactions episode, Ryan and John discuss their evolving feelings about #TheLastJedi after multiple viewings as well as dig in to the character arcs for Luke Skywalker and Vice Admiral Holdo.
This episode features Kevin, Jake, Jeremey, and John’s RAW and IMMEDIATE reactions to the totally crazy new Star Wars movie, The Last Jedi (don’t listen until you’ve seen the film!). We drove straight to a nearby restaurant as soon as the movie was over and just recorded our initial thoughts, so while there’s a bit of background noise and restaurant chatter, we think it’s worth it! We’ll be back with a more formal reaction show soon.
Join Kevin and John as we breakdown the trailer for The Last Jedi frame by frame. We discuss our favorite images, plot implications, and our hopes for Episode VIII. This discussion took place just minutes after The Last Jedi trailer went live, so our impressions are immediate and, as Snoke would say, “RAW!”
Ryan, John, Dan, and Kevin get together to discuss Anthony Breznican’s incredible coverage this week of The Last Jedi for Entertainment Weekly. We share our reactions, theories, and favorite moments from each of this week’s stories with a heavy emphasis on Luke, Rey, Leia, Chewie, Snoke, Kylo, Caretakers, and PORGS! Ryan and John warm up for the show by discussing a few Last Jedi toy leaks too. Join us for an in-depth discussion with plenty of analysis, insights, and laughs shared between friends!
Kevin, Chris, Dan, and John get together to discuss Luke Skywalker’s future in The Last Jedi and beyond. We consider a compelling Dave Filoni quote from the Rebels season four panel from Star Wars Celebration Orlando (courtesy of the fantastic Steele Wars podcast) as well as an excerpt from Brian Jay Jones’s George Lucas: A Life book for some support while exploring just who Luke could and should be in the sequel trilogy. Will he truly end the Jedi order? Is there any possibility of a dark side turn? Join us as we dig into anticipating the return of Star Wars’s greatest hero!
The title for Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi was revealed today and we couldn’t wait to share our thoughts here on The Blockade Runner. We wanted to record an episode as soon as possible discussing the news, so rather than wait until we could all record together, John spoke to Kevin, Ryan, Dan, and Chris individually. Each of us had something a bit different to share and speculate on regarding Episode VIII‘s new title, but we’re all so, so excited to learn more about the film. We’d love to hear what you think, so send us an email or use of the social media links in the show notes below to reach out!
*Disclaimer* Sound quality varies a bit in this one, but it’s totally listenable; we just rushed to get this episode out and weren’t always able to record under ideal conditions. We think our excitement makes up for it!
