The rest of the show is devoted to an in-depth look at Electronic Arts’s exclusive deal for publishing Star Wars games. We run through the history of EA’s Star Wars releases (and cancellations) and lament the unreleased games and missed opportunities (seriously, no Nintendo Switch games?) that are part of the EA-era.

Resistance Recap & Look Ahead (Buff Salacious Crumb) – The Blockade Runner Podcast #86

Resistance is back from it’s mid-season hiatus and Ryan is all caught up after taking a bit of a break from the show himself, so we’ve dedicated this episode to reviewing and discussing the show from episode #5 (“The High Tower”) all the way through the most recent episode, #13 (“Dangerous Business”). We also chat about the mid-season trailer, “Buff Salacious Crumb,” Resistance toys and our frustration with the difficulty of tracking down 3.75″ figures lately, and DIY movie poster light boxes.

We’re mostly just using Peter Sciretta’s Twitter comments from a few days ago as an excuse to pull down and pour over Phil Szostak’s incredible Art Of books for The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Wendig Wednesday – The Blockade Runner Podcast #79

This week’s episode is all about Star Wars novel and comic author Chuck Wendig, his work, and Marvel’s choice to fire him last week. We spend at least the first half of the episode discussing Marvel’s call to remove Chuck from the Star Wars books he was working on “for having a mind of his own,” and we’re not happy about it. We felt it was important to address and we wanted to voice our support for Chuck who we believe is responsible not only for some excellent Star Wars stories, but for speaking up against injustice and being unafraid to take a stand on important issues regardless of the fallout. The final portion of the show features a discussion of Chuck’s Star Wars work and the contributions he’s made to the property.

This week’s episode is all about the premiere episode(s) of Star Wars Resistance. Ryan and John discuss “The Recruit,” “Triple Dark,” and “Fuel for the Fire,” all of which are live on the Disney Now app. Our discussion primarily focuses on the characters, visuals, and tone of the show, so the “spoilers” are minimal (though you may still want to wait to listen until you’ve seen all three episodes).
