New Animated Series Star Wars Resistance Announced!

The official Star Wars site announced the upcoming Resistance animated series this week and all signs are pointing to the show being colorful, fun, and something significantly different from The Clone Wars and Rebels. This mini-episode features John’s reactions to the announcement and hopes for the show.

Blockade Runner Podcast Featured in a Documentary Short from Tyler Walker

Rock Valley College filmmaker Tyler Walker approached me last fall about doing a documentary short on our podcast and the final product, John Neisewander: A Sort of Star Wars Story, is really cool! As the name implies he was only able to interview me, so unfortunately it doesn’t feature the rest of the Blockade Runner crew, but I think it came together really well! Sacred Jedi Texts: The Last Jedi Art Of and Visual Dictionary Books

Join Ryan and John as we dive into The Art of The Last Jedi and The Last Jedi Visual Dictionary books on this latest episode of The Blockade Runner. We both love reading the Art Of and Visual Dictionary releases that accompany each new Star Wars movie so much, so we’re excited to dedicate an entire episode to them. The Art Of discussion leans pretty far into analysis and gleaning what we can about The Last Jedi‘s production process from the book while the Visual Dictionary portion of the show is more focused on fun little details and lore. Authors Phil Szostak and Pablo Hidalgo have written two incredible Last Jedi resources that we think are essential to any Star Wars fan’s own library of sacred texts, so whether you join us for this discussion or not, be sure to pick up and dig in to copies of both.

Chris’s Critical Take on The Last Jedi – The Blockade Runner Podcast – December 27th, 2017

Chris on TLJ CoverA couple of Blockade Runners made an early morning trip to a Last Jedi screening just before the holidays and we took the opportunity to check in with Chris to hear about why he unfortunately didn’t love the movie (unlike pretty much everyone else involved with The Blockade Runner). This episode is brief as we recorded it in the car on the way to and from the movie, but if you didn’t love Rian Johnson’s first contribution to the Star Wars series you may enjoy hearing a similar perspective from Chris. Or, if you loved it like the rest of us on the show did, Chris provides an alternate take without resorting to insults and hyperbole.
